Yellowstone Camping

July 15th, 2015

Camping and RV sites 8 miles from Yellowstone Park north entrance on the Yellowstone River. Great mountain views in all directions – Yankee Jim Canyon to the north and looking south into the mountains of the park’s northwest corner.

Enjoy one of the best kept secrets of the area – our tent camping area now has a new hot springs-fed foot pool. A relaxing meeting place after your long day of hiking or site seeing in the park!

After a winter of providing grazing grounds for buffalo, bighorn sheep, mule deer and the occasional pronghorn, the Yellowstone Vacation Campground is having a bustling 2015 season with visitors from all corners of the United States and Canada. Our location is an excellent home base for rafting or fishing the Yellowstone, rambling through the Park, or hiking the mountain trails in the Gallatin National Forest. Tom Miner Basin with its view of the petrified forest is right up the road just north of the rugged and picturesque Yankee Jim Canyon.

Across Highway 89 from the campground is the Lighthouse Restaurant (open June to mid-Sept) that is open for lunch, dinner and sumptuous desserts. A local favorite for dining or just filling your table with all the desserts and passing them around. Makes the world seem like a better place.
