Did you know that the Huckleberry Ridge eruption that created the Yellowstone Caldera emitted 2,400 times the amount of material that Mount St. Helen’s sent out in 1980?

The Huckleberry Ridge eruption deposited ash as far away as Ventura, California to the west and the state of Iowa to the east.

It sort of changes one’s perspective on things and gives a new meaning to the word “awesome”!

We’re glad it was over 2 million years ago!
